Eight-year-old Drake is snatched up by the King's soldiers and taken to the castle where he is told by the wizard Griffith that he has been chosen to be a Dragon Master like Ana, Rori, and Bo--and his first task will be to discover whether his dragon, Worm, has any special powers.

Drake's friends Mina and Caspar, their dragons, and Worm were trapped in stone by the evil wizard Astrid who has stolen their dragons' powers, but Drake himself was saved from a similar fate by Astrid's sister Hulda; now because of his strong connection with Worm, Drake is able to help his dragon to break free, but to free the others they need the assistance of three other dragons--a lava dragon, a sea dragon, and a wind dragon--and they have to do...

The evil wizard Maldred has stolen the gold and silver keys which will allow him to release the Naga, the powerful earthquake dragon at the center of the earth--so Drake and several of the other Dragon Masters travel to the Naga's Temple in the Dragon Islands, to try and stop Maldred, and prevent him and the earthquake dragon from destroying the kingdom.

Lalo the baby lightning dragon has been taken by Eko, a rogue Dragon Master, who ran away with her thunder dragon years before--now she is back looking to make allies of the other dragon masters, and so gain control over all of the dragons in Griffith.

The wizard Astrid is planning to cast the False Life spell which will bring to life the bones of giant ancient beasts and allow her to conquer all the kingdoms; in order to prevent her the Dragon Masters must find the Wind Dragon, the final dragon needed to undo the spell--but that dragon and her Dragon Master are captives, and it is up to Drake and his friends to rescue them, and hope they are in time to stop Astrid.

The dark magic the dragons encountered in their first adventure has made Ana's sun dragon, Kepri, sick and Drake's earth dragon, Worm, teleports the himself, Kepri, and the four young dragon masters far away from the castle in search of a cure--but the threat of the dark magic still remains.

When Drake discovers that his friend and fellow Dragon Master, Bo, is trying to steal the Dragon Stone, he wonders if the dark wizard might be behind it, and he must try to find a way to protect the stone while keeping Bo's family out of danger.

The Dragon Masters discover that a Shadow Dragon named Chaya and his Dragon Master Aruna are responsible for a huge shadow stretching across the sky, but how do they have so much power and why are other wizards around the world losing theirs?

A nest of invisible baby dragons has been discovered in Queen Sofia's castle so Drake, Worm, and Val, Carlos's cousin, must journey to the dangerous Dove Island to find the parents and the fruit that keeps the dragons' invisible powers.

The Dragon Masters have defeated the evil wizard Maldred, but not before the Kingdom of Bracken was devastated by Naga, the earthquake dragon; now Drake and his dragon, Worm, must appeal to the spring dragon, Fallyn, who is their only hope of restoring Bracken before its people starve--but Fallyn lives deep inside a secret fairy world, and Drake must pass a series of tricky tests before he can even make his appeal.
